FAQs
Please find below answers to some of the common enquiries we receive.
Where can I find allergy information for your products?
We are currently reviewing our entire menu, if you require any further details, please contact us using our
enquiry form.
All of our dishes are created in kitchens where nuts, crustaceans, soya, fish and gluten are present. Even though every effort is made to avoid contamination, this is not something that we can guarantee.
Is it possible for me to eat sushi or any products containing raw fish if I am pregnant?
At Wasabi we comply with all relevant food safety
regulations which makes our fish parasite free.
However, we cannot advise you on your own food choices.
We suggest that
you seek specialist medical and nutritional advice before deciding to eat sushi
as it is unknown what effect raw fish could have on women during pregnancy.
Does the fish used at Wasabi come from sustainable sources?
Sustainability of all the ingredients we use is important to us as a business. We are constantly looking to improve the sustainability of our operations.
We never have, and never will use Bluefin tuna in our sushi due to the threat of extinction facing this species.
We use Yellowfin tuna for our sushi which is long line caught, avoiding any by-catch. Our suppliers will not purchase any fish under 30kg to help maintain populations of this popular fish.
Why does it cost more to eat in than take my food away?
As much of the food we sell is cold food, per UK tax regulations VAT is charged on it when you eat in, but not if you take away. We pass this VAT saving on to our take away customers.
Our hot food prices are not affected by this VAT saving, as VAT is chargeable both on hot food you eat in and hot food you take away.
What are your recommendations for storage of your food after I have made my purchase?
All of our sushi should be kept refrigerated and enjoyed within 2 hours to maintain freshness and taste. Our Hot food should be eaten within 2 hours and not reheated.
